RESTAURANT INITIATIVE
Participating Restaurants

The Plan:
The restaurant must meet at least three of the recommendations on the adult menu, and all of the recommendations for the kids menu.
Adult Menu
- Offer healthy options labeled with nutritional information in the menu. (minimum of 3)
- Allow no cost substitutions for items such as french fries or chips, with a healthier choice such as fruit or vegetables. (This option must be posted in the menu or on a sign in the store.)
- Offer a selection of fruits/vegetables as side items in addition to potatoes and a lettuce-based salad.
- Have a whole grain bread option
- Offer labeled reduced (healthy) portions of some entrees with reduced price. (minimum of 3)
Kids Menu
- Have at least one grilled or baked meat item in addition to hot dogs or hamburgers. (must be posted)
- Allow substitution for chips or fries with vegetable, fruit, or salad. (must be posted)
- Offer milk or 100% juice selections.
